On-Location Photo Sessions

For senior or family portraits, a session includes:

  • A pre-session visit to discuss the goals of the photo session and to get the lay of the land
  • Approximately 1 hour photo session on location
  • Online proofs in a private, password protected folder (printed proofs available)
  • Editorial and personal usage permission granted
  • One 8x10 print

    Cost: $100 sitting fee.

    For families wanting individual portraits as well as group portraits, extra fees will be discussed in the pre-session. Additional locations and excessive wardrobe changes cost time, and therefore may cost extra.

    Farm Sessions

    We will come to your farm or home and photograph your horse or horses for personal and/or promotional purposes. A pre-session will be set up to discuss with you what type of photos you would like (liberty, posed, headshots, family portrait, senior portrait, promotional, artistic...) and to get a feel for the best lighting and locations.

    (All horses must be photographed on the same property on the same day to qualify)

    You may use the photos editorially (in a newspaper or magazine article) without special permission. Permission is required for commercial use (advertising and promotion). A commercial usage license is available for a nominal fee.

    A private photo session includes:

  • A pre-session visit to discuss the goals of the photo session and to get the lay of the land
  • Approximately 1 hour per horse
  • Online proofs in a private, password protected folder (printed proofs available)
  • Editorial and personal usage permission granted
  • One 8x10 print for each horse photographed

    Cost: $100 for 1 horse, $50 for each additional horse, limit 4 total in a one day session

    A barn session includes:

  • A pre-session visit to discuss the goals of the photo session and to get the lay of the land
  • Approximately 1/2 hour per horse
  • Online proofs in personal password protected folders (printed proofs available)
  • Editorial and personal usage permission granted
  • One 8x10 print for each horse photographed

    Cost: $50 per horse, minimum of 4 horses

    Mileage is free within a 60 mile radius of my home, a fee of $ .50 per mile will be charged for travel beyond.

    • Shows and Other Events

    My event coverage includes horse shows, dog shows, inspections, clinics, fun shows... any kind of event. I will photograph your local event at no cost to the management. I only require a place to set up my booth and advertisment over the PA and on the show bill. A hotel room will be required for multiple day shows more than 3 hours from my home.

    Proofs from events will be posted online within 72 hours of the end of the event. Printed proofs are available for a $25 deposit, which will be applied to your order.

    Digital Photo Services

    Photo retouching and enhancement is available. I can remove small elements from the background or change it completely, convert to black and white, add color or graphic effects, create a montage with two or more pictures... it's up to you! See examples of my work on my gallery page.

    Larger prints are available in a variety of sizes, as well as gallery wraps and prints on canvas. Please contact me for a price quote.

    If you would like multiple prints of a picture to send to friends and family, a quantity discount can be worked out.

    Also, your favorite picture can be printed on products such as postcards, greeting cards, signature books, posters, trading cards, mugs, t-shirts, etc...

    I will also barter.

    • Restrictions and Terms of Use

    Please keep in mind that this is how I make my living. Reproducing or copying any photos you receive from me is strictly prohibited, and usually results in a lower quality picture anyway. If you wish to send photos to friends and family, quality reprints are available at a low cost.

    To use photos for commercial/advertising uses, a signed release and the purchase of an 8x10 print is required. All photos (other than personal display) must be visibly credited to Christel Nelson and/or Duchess Hill Photography (example: photo © Duchess Hill Photography or photo courtesy Christel Nelson, Duchess Hill Photography). If posted on a webpage, visible credit and a link to this website are required.
